Why a safety microwave?
This product was born out of necessity. A relative in her nineties, who was living independently in assisted accommodation, caused the Fire and Rescue service to be called out 3 times by simply cooking a baked potato for too long in a microwave.
Although there was no fire, the food desiccated and produce large quantities of smoke, setting off alarms which in sheltered accommodation are linked to the fire brigade.
After a thorough search (including the US) there isn't a manufacturer that limits the maximum time a microwave can operate below 25 minutes.
So back in 2017 we designed a modification to one of the most trusted microwave brands in the UK, which replaces the label to show the limited time but most importantly incorporates a HARD STOP so that the oven cannot be run for longer than its maximum time.
Since then our relative has been alarm free and we've go on to modify hundreds of units for people like you - simply through word of mouth - take a look at our testimonials.
