Very cold or large quantities may be have to be heated through on multiple attempts, but this is obvious to the user.  Depending upon the regular quantity cooked there is a choice of maximum time limits :
 
1 portion = 3 minute maximum microwave cooking time
2 small portions = 4 minute maximum microwave cooking time
2 large portions = 5 minute maximum microwave cooking time

The modification replaces the label to show the limited time but most importantly incorporates a HARD STOP so that the oven cannot be run for longer than its maximum time. Even if food is getting close to being overcooked the maximum time is designed to prevent ignition and subsequent smoke production. The timer is mechanical so no buttons to press and will automatically turn off the oven after the maximum time period - it's really fool proof.
